This is an appeal to CARTOONISTS across the world by the Kerala Cartoon Academy, one of the largest cartoonists’ grouping in India .
For 50 years, this white-clad simple man revelled Indians with his mesmerizingly beautiful voice, recording more than 50000 songs, mostlyfor films in our language, Malayalam and 16 other languages including Russian and Arabic. For half a century, YESUDAS remains the most uttered word over the radio, daily and the personality most discussed by the Malayali people in Kerala.Every Malayali owes him for the immortal song after song he voiced. YESUDAS will be turning 72 in January 2012.
The Kerala Cartoon Academy has decided to present him with a compilation of 200 best caricatures chosen from the works received from cartoonists across the globe. Since a caricature is one of the most enduring,memorable gifts that has ever been conceived, we hope, our dearest singer is going to be really amused for a long time to come. The compilation will also be brought out as a book worth gifting to your dear ones.
Kindly find the cartoon-friendly features of YESUDAS and some of his pics at the end, just to enable you to visualise the singer.
We would request you to kindly draw our YESUDAS, although you might have not heard about him, as a tribute to the ever-green Kerala and its film-crazy, peace-loving people, called by the tourists as the God’s Own Country.
Can we expect your YESUDAS by the New Year Eve ? Please do not fail to draw. I shall take the liberty to remind you in 10 days.
